Salam Mr. Haque. I’m also a hobbyist but still practising with point & shoots. Mine is a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS released just 3 months ago. It takes good pictures as well. I’m a nature and wildlife photographer so I chose this camera with 10x optical zoom, 9 MP resolution and quite a few manual controls. I’m contemplating to buy an entry level DSLR soon and my choice is Canon EOS Rebel XSi. May I request ur comments on this camera? My email is qahbd123@gmail.com
About ur pictures; these are of highest pro quality undoubtedly. I know it’s the photographer that shoots quality pictures, not the camera. Bye.
It is a good entry level camera which will get you started towards the world of SLR digital cameras. As a hobbyist you can go for it, but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who takes photography very seriously and as a profession.
Thank you for your comments Mr. Mozammel. No, I’m not planning to become a pro at this age of 52 (but look younger and very young in heart). I’m the head of admin of a joint collaboration pharma company and enjoy my profession. But I love to shoot nature and its habitants whenever there’s an opportunity. That’s why I bought this Canon SX110 P&S camera (with 10x optical zoom) from Singapore last month. But surfing the web of digicam sites, XSi caught my attention. In the package I would also like to include telephoto lens equivalent to 20x zoom and teleconverters if required. What would you say now? QAH, 22Jan09
I would love to hear from a great photographer like you as I await your response to my last question above. BTW, I’m also studying Nikon D90. This one also seems good. I want crystal clear pictures with natural colors, noise free high ISO option and good telephoto lens equivalent to 20x in P&S digicam. May I request your comments on these please? Regards.
